Hello and Happy March 1! 🙂
I have been working on a new album called Cloud of Witnesses since last year (set to be released in stages from Spring to Summer 2022!).
In the meantime, a friend requested I share the lyrics of my current songs (2018-2021), so here they are in poem form…with all of the Scripture references.
I pray that these words spark thoughts of God in your mind, encourage your heart, and speak life to your spirit if it’s weary.
Seasons (from the Seasons EP)
Words and Music by Amanda Rassamni
Ecclesiastes 3
To everything there is a season
A time for peace, a time for love
For every purpose under heaven
It’s all been given by God above
And that which is has already passed
There’s nothing to fear because
We’re coming out of this one fast
We’re accelerating seasons
We won’t be heartbroken for long
Feel that peace, hear that laughing
Get up and start dancing
For time is moving along
This is life’s song
To everything there is a season
A time to tear, a time to sew
That old garment you’ve been wearing
Don’t let it pull you down anymore
For that which is has already passed
There’s nothing to fear because
We’re coming out of this one fast
We’re accelerating seasons
We won’t be heartbroken for long
Feel that peace, hear that laughing
Get up and start dancing
For time is moving along
This is life’s song
Oh, this is life’s song
This is life’s song
Hope Deferred (from the Seasons EP)
Words and Music by Amanda Rassamni
Proverbs 13:12, Job 1:21-22, Psalm 84:11-12
I have been down on my knees, with desperate pleas
Why is this happening?
I know what it looks like to wait, day after day
When nothing has changed
But You, You are not a God who withholds good from me,
And I, I cannot accuse You of wrongdoing
Oh, how precious are the seasons that I choose to cling to You
Cause You’re doing more than I imagined You would do
Hope deferred makes the heart sick
But how I trust You, oh how I trust You, my Father
Desire fulfilled is a tree of life, but I know
Only You can satisfy
Cause You, You are not a God who withholds good from me,
And I, I cannot accuse You of wrongdoing
Oh, how precious are the seasons that I choose to cling to You
Cause You’re doing more than I imagined You would do
Shall we not accept from the Lord, good and trouble?
Shall we not accept from the Lord every season of the soul?
Shall we not accept from the hand of God the comfort that He brings
When He knows we’re suffering?
He knows we’re suffering
Only You can satisfy
Only You can satisfy
Only You can satisfy
Just to Be With You (from the Seasons EP)
Words and Music by Amanda Rassamni
John 6:67-69, Psalm 84:10
As I cling steadfastly to You
Every fear and doubt just slips away
They slip away
And I believe You when You say
The seasons I can see are temporary
You are eternity
Oh Lord, to whom else would I go?
I want to be with You, just to be with You
For You are life, You are all I need
And You have revealed Yourself
So I will give everything, just to be with You
Cause You, You know me
You, You see right through my soul
You see right through my soul
You, You set me free, to walk in liberty
And You have my loyalty
Cause one day with You is better
Than all the days I’ve spent on earth
And You’re coming to take me home
Oh Lord, to whom else would I go?
I want to be with You, just to be with You
For You are life, You are all I need
And You have revealed Yourself
So I will give everything, just to be with You
You are My King (from the Seasons EP)
Words and Music by Amanda Rassamni
Psalm 16
Many times I wait
I wait for You to pull me through
The seasons I don’t understand Your will
I easily get so caught up with myself
But You’re faithful every time
You remind me of my soul’s delight
And You, don’t see me as a failure
So I lift up my hands and give thanks
And I will sing, You are my King, You are my King
I will sing, You are my King, You are my King
There’s no one beside You
You’re worthy of praise
God, You have redeemed me, and all of my days
Your love is infinite, You love me always
And I will sing, You are my King
I have no good beside or beyond You
You are my portion, You are my breakthrough
So all I am is all about You
King of the Universe
I have no good beside or beyond You
You are my portion, You are my breakthrough
So all I am is all about You
King of the Universe
I will sing, You are my King, You are my King
There’s no one beside You
You’re worthy of praise
God, You have redeemed me, and all of my days
Your love is infinite, You love me always
So I will sing, You are my King
Nothing is Silent
Words and Music by Amanda Rassamni
Psalm 94:9-11
Does He who made the eye, will He not see?
Does He who made the ear, will He not hear?
Do you think that He who opened heaven just to come and be one with you doesn’t love to
listen to you when you call?
Does He who made the mind, does He not know?
Does He who made the heart, does He not feel sorrow?
Do you think the One who knows your thoughts before they’re even on your lips doesn’t care?
All my life You’ve shown my prayers don’t hit the ceiling
So I know You are always listening
Dare I think for a second the prayer I pray in faith is not enough
Nothing is silent, nothing is hidden
Nothing is ignored, nothing’s unimportant
Everything I think about, everything that I say goes into Your ears,
You remember every word I pray
Everything moves You, everything I feel inside, You do not despise
You’re outside of time and space and the universe, but You care
You’re outside of time and space and the universe, but You’re here
Glory of God (Justin’s Song)
Words and Music by Amanda Rassamni
John 11, Isaiah 60:1
I know You hear me, I know You always hear me
But I know You do all things for Your glory
You are Life, and You are Resurrection
And though we may die, we will live in You
You are the One who lifts up my head,
I’ll see Your glory again, I’ll see Your glory again
I know You hear me, I know You always hear me
But I know You do all things for Your glory
You are Life, and You are Resurrection
And though we may die, we will live in You
You are the One who lifts up my head,
I’ll see Your glory again, I’ll see Your glory again
Arise and shine for Your light has come
And the glory of God has risen on you
And the glory of God has risen on you
Oh His resurrection life has risen on you
Oh the glory of God has risen on you
God bless you. And mark your calendars for March 21 for the first special release of part of the Cloud of Witnesses album! 🙂
