The Meaning of My Life (and 2020)

On this New Years Eve of 2020, one that has been so on pause for so many, I wanted to share a song the Lord gave me on my birthday this year (written and recorded on October 21).

It was on that day that I realized that with every new year’s increased accomplishments and experiences, my life will never mean more than it does right now by simply being a child of God. “No accomplishment, no goal I hit can compare” to knowing God as my Father and my Friend, and no matter what does or doesn’t come in a year, that never changes. It is His acceptance, His love, His intrinsic value He placed in me by His Spirit that makes my life and my every year valuable – not anything I do or accomplish ever will.

Therefore, even if a year seems lacking in experiences and accomplishments, it is never without meaning.

He will always be the meaning of my (and your) life. What a privilege it is to know Him and this truth. 🙂

The Meaning of My Life lyrics:

You and I are like the wind, ever loyal as a friend. We cannot be separated.

Though I don’t know where we’ll go, I know there’s always hope, cause You are by my side.

And the seas are always changing, but You’re Creator of the ancient seas, and You’ve chosen to be one with me.

All my years to this one, I’m sure of the meaning of my life.

It never changes, it just is, I’m Yours and You are mine.

And no accomplishment, no goal I hit can compare, I’m nothing without You.

I’m the branches, You’re the Vine, You are my Source of life. We cannot be separated.

Though there’s pruning and there’s shaking, You’re the One who holds my heart in place, With the promise I will see Your face.

All my years to this one, I’m sure of the meaning of my life.

It never changes, it just is, I’m Yours and You are mine.

And no accomplishment, no goal I hit can compare, I’m nothing without You.

God bless you and your family this year as you remember your eternal value in Him. 🙂
